DATA AFFAIRS, the information portal for research data management of the Collaborative Research Center 1171 "Affective Societies", has been launched on December 5th. DATA AFFAIRS aims to provide (junior) researchers, students and lecturers in ethnographic disciplines with relevant information on discipline-specific aspects of research data management, and invites them to engage in interactive self-study. Field reports from empirical research complement the information provided on DATA AFFAIRS and encourage a (critical) assessment of the pros and cons of the Open Science movement. The overall goal of DATA AFFAIRS is to enable researcher to handle empirical research data in ethnographic disciplines in a reflective and systematic manner.
